PRESENTATION MALAGACLASE is the branch of IPF dealing with the organisation of learning programmes of Spanish for foreigners and designed exclusively to try to satisfy all needs both in learning as well as during the free time of a student of Spanish language, from his/her arrival at Malaga airport to the departure. In MALAGACLASE we’re interested about the student from the educative point of view, as well as his/her adaptation to our city. Malaga is the city where the world-famous paintor Picasso was born and it’s dedicated to tourism, as it has what many consider the best climate in Europe and is well known around the world as COSTA DEL SOL. Sports, excursions, free Internet, parties, etc. are only some of the possibilities which MALAGACLASE proposes you to make your stay with us more pleasant. The distinguishing element of our MALAGACLASE is our struggle for achieving the linguistic spreading of the Spanish language and obviously the best way for you to learn the Spanish language. Why to learn Spanish? - More than 500 millions of people around the world speak Spanish. - It’s the official language in 21 countries. - There are now more than 30 millions of spanish-speakers in the United States, this number increasing constantly. - It’s the language of world famous artists such as Picasso, Dali, Cervantes, etc. - It’s the official language in international organisations as important as the UN. - The spanish language is increasing in relevance within the business world. - More than 55.000 students visit Malaga each year. Lasting 4 weeks: 4 lessons per day from Monday to Friday (2 grammar + 2 conversation). Levels: • Basic 1 (Week 1) • Basic 2 (Week 2) • Basic 3 (Week 3) • Basic 4 (Week 4) This course is designed for students who don’t have any knowledge of the Spanish language or have little knowledge. The plan for each day of classes includes 2 lessons of grammar, where the basic structures will be learnt and will help the students along the following 2 hours of conversation. During these classes pronunciation and vocabulary will be learnt, and games related directly with everyday situations will be practised. To speak is essencial in this course, to learn to comunícate and start speaking with others. 2. COURSES - Spanish / basic level Lasting 4 weeks: 4 lessons per day from Monday to Friday (2 grammar + 2 conversation). Levels: - Basic 1 (Week 1) - Basic 2 (Week 2) - Basic 3 (Week 3) - Basic 4 (Week 4) This course is designed for students who don't have any knowledge of the Spanish language or have little knowledge. The plan for each day of classes includes 2 lessons of grammar, where the basic structures will be learnt and will help the students along the following 2 hours of conversation. During these classes pronunciation and vocabulary will be learnt, and games related directly with everyday situations will be practised. To speak is essential in this course, to learn to communicate and start speaking with others. - Spanish / intermediate level Lasting 4 weeks: 4 classes per day from Monday to Friday (2 grammar + 2 conversation) For students arriving in Malaga with some knowledge of Spanish, or students finishing the fourth week of the beginners course and would like to extend their stay in the learning centre. Levels: - Intermediate 1 (week 1) - Intermediate 2 (week 2) - Intermediate 3 (week 3) - Intermediate 4 (week 4) In this course there will be some basic structures repeated from the Basic Spanish Course through a brief revision of the previous grammar lessons and new and more complex structures will be learnt. Conversation classes become an essencial supplement in which the student will increase his/her fluency when speaking Spanish as well as will be able to discuss more complicated issues. - Spanish / advanced level Lasting 4 weeks : 4 classes per day from Monday to Friday (2 grammar + 2 conversation) For students who arrive in Malaga with advanced knowledge of Spanish, or students who have finished the 4th week of the Intermediate course and wish to extend their stay in the learning centre. Levels: - Advanced 1 (week 1) - Advanced 2 (week 2) - Advanced 3 (week 3) - Advanced 4 (week 4) In this course some complicated sigues of the Spanish language will be dealt with, such as subjuntivo. In the conversation lessons, the students will increase their understanding of Spanish day after day, learning expressions typical in spanish conversations and enriching their vocabulary. In this level there is a more detailed and specific handling of the language, which makes it the perfect choice for those students who wish to improve their conversational skills and grammar knowledge. * The students arriving to MálagaCLASE will take a test to evaluate their level of Spanish and their knowledge, in order to cose the adequate course. However, the student will be able to change the level if he/she wishes, before attending the first lesson or at the end of each week (it won’t be posible to change during the week). - Business Spanish This specific course consists of 20 hours of classes from Monday to Friday: 1 lesson of grammar + 1 lesson of conversation and 2 lessons of Business Spanish (per day). It is designed especially for those who have medium or advanced knowledge of Spanish and can speak and understand the language. This course is ideal for those who wish to work or already work in any business branch in Spain or Latin America, as Spanish is one of the key languages in business around the world. With knowledge of this specific Spanish, the student will be more competitive in many professions and will be able to express him/herself about economic and commercial issues, as well as participate in professional situations in this sector. - Spanish for tourism The aim of this course is to provide professionals or students in this sector with vocabulary and most commonly used expressions. This course lasts 4 weeks (20 lessons each week divided in 4 lessons per day: 1 lesson of grammar, 1 lesson of conversation and 2 lessons of Spanish for tourism). With the knowledge of this type of Spanish, the student will be more competitive in many professions and will be able to express him/herself about touristic issues, as well as participate in professional situations in this sector. 3.ACTIVIDADES PROPUESTAS COMPLEMENTARIAS In your free time, as well as the sport offer, if you wish you will be able to enjoy the following activities proposed by MALAGACLASE: * Cultural Malaga: once a week we will make a cultural tour in which we will supply you with information. There are different routes so each week you discover different places in this city. * Taking tapas: once per week we will make a tour along the typical tapas-bars, in which you will be able to try the culinary specialities or our region. * Malaga Night: once a week we will make a tour along bars in our city in which you will be able to know the night life of malagueños and visitors, meet new people, etc. * Internet: you will be able to enjoy a free internet connection with the card NetPass from IPF. (*) IPF accompanies you to these locations, but entry cards or drinks/food are not included.
